Suffera Jan, delves into the unique challenges and struggles faced by care leavers in the picturesque region of Jammu and Kashmir. In her compelling documentary, she brings to light numerous hidden voices, shedding light on their stories and experiences.

Shweta Gupta

Shweta offers a unique perspective on the situation of care leavers in Bhopal, providing an integrated analysis of their experiences from 2019 to 2021. Her study spans three years and examines care leavers from diverse demographic backgrounds, shedding light on their challenges and journeys.

Batch - 2 Outcomes 

Shankar

Shankar was at the driving seat of the ‘National Care Leavers Awareness Drive’ where he endeavored to cultivate a society that acknowledges the challenges of care leavers and actively promotes their integration and empowerment. Through the amplification of their stories, encouragement of community engagement, and establishment of partnerships, we envision a future where care leavers are embraced, believed in, and empowered to contribute significantly to nation-building.

Sujit

Sujit’s comic delves into a unique theme of experiencing menstruation for the first time in a CCI which can be a daunting and varied experience, especially if one lacks proper information and support. The comic thoughtfully captures the complexities and emotions of such an experience, shedding light on the challenges faced in this setting.

Shahid

As part of his fellowship, Shahid conducted social skills training sessions for care leavers. Recognizing the challenges of social isolation in CCIs, Shahid focused on equipping care leavers with essential life skills that facilitate their successful reintegration into society.

Priyanka

Priyanka from Assam has conducted a research with 30 care leavers from the state to understand their challenges. She has also been instrumental in securing educational admissions for care leavers, advocating for inclusive education and ensuring that every individual has access to learning opportunities.

Narmadi

Narmdi, an exceptionally talented filmmaker, has captured the voices of care leavers in her groundbreaking documentary. Tune in to hear how these individuals, against all odds, transform their lives through sheer determination and hard work, emerging as success stories in their own right.

Manisha

Manisha is an activist and an HIV-affected care leaver who has dedicated her life to dispelling misconceptions about HIV and raising awareness among youth. To further this mission, she founded her own organization, Positive Yuva Network, which focuses on educating and empowering young people with accurate information about HIV.

Hajra

Hajra, a care leaver with disabilities, uses the power of her words to overcome societal barriers. Through her eloquent speech and writing, she has become a strong advocate for her community. Hajra has authored numerous blogs and a book, using her platform to amplify her voice and express her experiences and perspectives.

Anand

During his fellowship, Anand focused on providing mental health resources to care leavers. He developed a comprehensive website featuring a mood tracker and a repository of mental health resources, offering accessible and valuable support to those in need.

Abhishek and Nandini

Legal entitlements and documentation are among the key challenges faced by youth exiting care. Our two fellows from Batch 2, Abhishek and Nandini, drawing on their extensive experience in assisting numerous care leavers in obtaining their identity documents, have created a self-help guidebook This guidebook is designed to guide care leavers in correcting, modifying, and updating their primary documents, thereby enabling them to reintegrate legally and effectively into society.

Amir

As part of his fellowship, Aamir focused on enhancing financial literacy among care leavers. He conducted multiple educational sessions and even developed a website featuring comprehensive financial literacy modules, providing valuable resources to help care leavers gain essential financial knowledge and skills.
