Vadodara

History

Vadodara, formerly known as Baroda, is the third largest city in the state of Gujarat. Vadodara is an important industrial, cultural and educational hub of western India. Literacy rate in Vadodara has seen an upward trend, in recent past and is 78.92 per cent as per 2011 population census. Of that, male literacy stands at 85.39 percent, while female literacy is at 72.03 percent.

In 2018, Udayan Care, along with its long-term partner Lotus Charitable Trust, set up a Udayan Shalini Fellowship Programme (USF) chapter in Vadodara to reach out to needy girls. In the month of September 2018, USF inducted the first batch of 50 underprivileged girls from 15 schools in Vadodara and nearby areas to support their higher education.
