History of the Chapter

Vadodara, formerly known as Baroda, is the third largest city in the state of Gujarat.  Vadodara is an important industrial, cultural and educational hub of western India. Literacy rate in Vadodara has seen upward trend and is 78.92 per cent as per 2011 population census. Of that, male literacy stands at 85.39 per cent, while female literacy is at 72.03 per cent.

This year, in 2018, Udayan Care, along with its long-term partner Lotus Charitable Trust, decided to set up Udayan Shalini Fellowships Programme in Vadodara to reach out to more needy girls. In the month of September 2018, we inducted 50 underprivileged girls from class XI in 15 schools in Vadodara and nearby areas for their mentoring and higher education.
