Rising Volunteer – New Face with helping hands

I am a recipient of unconditional love, I am a Volunteer.

Udayan Care shared a lot of memories with their Internship Programme which helped new faces to assist them at our home. Same but tad different Snigdhaa, one of our Internswho joined us this year gave a wonderful experience to our children. All the children always talk about her in the manner that she was their Mentor cum elder sister.

She took the children from our 4 Udayan Care (2 MayurVihar and 2 Sant Nagar) for an outing to Lodhi Garden which involved fun games with historical learning about the monuments followed by dinner. As said, “Children are great imitators, so give them something great to imitate”. This was made successful by Snigdhaa.

She volunteered with us at our Sant Nagar home which got her so emotionally connected to the children. She was with us in a research programme at our MayurVihar Home.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Snigdhaa was so in love with all our children that she decided to come back to them with the same love and affection.

“For once I don’t have to try to be happy because when I’m with them it just happens”

Let’s do Theatre

Bringing volunteers together from across the world to make them contribute their best in the real time constraints is something the Volunteers look for. Our international volunteers Emily, Varshini, Kelly and Riju were wonderful to their work. They supported us in various workshop management, reporting and documentation for every session.

With any part you play, there is a certain amount of yourself in it. There has to be, otherwise it’s just not acting. It’s living. Emily and Varshini conducted a Theatre workshop for the kids and helped them to prepare a skit. This skit was performed on the final day of the summer camp as a piece of interest of children.

Token of Love

For all those who have touched these thousands lives some or the other way; Udayan Care Home wants to show the gratitude to all of them for their presence and association.

Not only volunteers, there were some other names also who were equally enthusiastic, delighted and joyous working with us.

Yum! Group

The group spent a day with our Sant Nagar Home children about which both the children and the volunteers were equally excited. The grooming and Art and Craft workshop was organised for different age group children. The kids were fascinated after looking at the huge Pizza Hut Boxes along with the Tacos from Taco Bell. Along with the food the volunteers also distributed diaries and storybooks as a small gift to the children to see them smiling. Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.

The World is Our Stage, Really !

The 3rd batch for ICN Matsiko tour departed on 6th June, 17 for the USA, with 3 little princesses of Udayan Ghar. They were led by an alumna of Udayan Ghar Programme, Ritu Udayan. Our children along with children from other countries are travelling and performing in different parts of United States of America. Being a part of Matsiko children’s choir is a great honor and experience of a life time for our children. The exposure that the children will receive through this tour is immense.

Kudos to our little singing stars.
