In 1996, Udayan Care launched the Udayan Ghar Program for children without parental care, significantly improving their lives through unique care models. The impact expanded with the Udayan Shalini Fellowships in 2002, supporting vulnerable girls in higher education. In 2004, Udayan Information and Technology Centres were introduced to enhance skills and employability in underserved communities. In 2008, the A.R.T. program was established to engage with governmental bodies, civil society in India, and global stakeholders on Family Strengthening and Alternative Care.
Starting with the first family home (Ghar) for at risk children in Sant Nagar, Delhi, in 1996, Udayan Care has grown over the past 31 years. It now includes additional family homes, aftercare support, community-based care programs, support for girls’ education, and vocational training for youth and women.
Operating in 44 cities across 16 states in India, Udayan Care has empowered over 65,000 young minds.
Since 2018, Udayan Care has held Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
