A superb jewelry grade Herkimer Diamond with Marcasite Inclusions from the now closed private claim near Hickory Hill, Fonda, NY.
The Marcasite Inclusions are a subtle distinction but in my humble opinion they make for the most beautiful Herkimer Diamonds of all. In the sunlight little metallic sparkles can be seen in the Quartz adding a little extra visual appeal. After 20 years or more of mining them I would say these are my favorite Herkimer Diamond varieties.
