Miracles of Hope

Sachin Udayan gears up for his year-long tour to USA with his 6 Udayan siblings

Sachin Udayan

A family situation forced Sachin and his five siblings to come to Udayan Care in 2008. Struggling to understand his past and cope with the present, Sachin was nurtured by his mentor parents at Udayan Ghar, Mayur Vihar- II. Today, he is a bright student studying in class 2 at Genesis Global School. Excelling at sports and extracurricular activities, Sachin gives his best to everything he undertakes. And that’s precisely why he has been invited by the International Children’s Network to participate in the World Orphan Choir in USA.

Nancy and Ritu Udayan: Fashionistas in the Making

Nancy Udayan

Nancy and Ritu came to Udayan Ghar, at the threshold of their teenage years. They were welcomed with open arms and blossomed into confident, young women. Now ready to make it big in the Fashion world, they have taken their first step towards bringing their dreams to life by joining the Rai Foundation in Behror, Rajasthan for Fashion Technology! In a spirit to give back they both worked indefatigably and designed costumes for children who will be performing at the International Children’s Network’s World Orphan Choir in the USA! Both of them even interned at Tanishq showrooms to gain experience!

Wendy Leggat Surprises our girls

Wendy with our girls at the Garden of Five Senses

Wendy came as a volunteer at Udayan Ghar, Chattarpur where she lived with our 13 young girls. Unfortunately she had to rush back to France as she fell ill. Driven by guilt, as she had promised the girls so much, from the moment she felt better, all she could think of was getting back to them!

She tried her best and returned, this time to Udayan Ghar Mehrauli, surprising all of us. She was so happy to return that she treated the girls to French chocolates and specialties to celebrate!

As she says, “The work the mentors have done with these girls is fantastic. I’m so glad to be back with the girls especially because it’s the exam period and we can work together with them!
