The Fine And Mighty Achievers

Our cup of joy runneth over indeed. Grit and hard work soar to new heights, both at Udayan Ghars and Udayan Shalini Fellowships (USF). At Udayan Ghars, with a 100% pass result, our 10 children from Class X and 8 children from Class XII have made us immensely proud. And it wasn’t too different at USF, where out of 317 students who appeared for Class XII examinations, 11 secured over 90%.

There was much celebration at Udayan Ghars as results were announced. Our two heroes, Muskan from Greater NOIDA Udayan Ghar, who scored 84.60% in Class X, and Sakshi from Mehrauli Udayan Ghar, who scored 84% in Class XII, beamed with joy as we looked at them with a sense of pride.

Even before the results came out, our curious and enthusiastic children had already had firsthand experience in the industries of their choice. They interned with Yatra.com, Hair We Are Salon, Oerlikon Graziano, KFC, Sat Krishna Maruti, Boutique International, Mercer India, Rana Motors and Patanjali Outlet – learning first-hand the way the world works.

Now with this spectacular success, admission rush for studies has begun.

Let's congratulate the scholars for exhibiting a stellar performance and wish them all the best.

Learning Outside the Classroom

It is our belief that education is not static. It's not about conforming to set boundaries and patterns but about breaking them to look beyond. Hence, Udayan Care, through summer camps, trips and various activities, ensures more possibilities for children to migrate to a boundaryless space.

This is the time for excitement, for discovering new things, for learning in an environment that doesn't box you in. And this is the time when the children develop their individuality.

Summer of 21

21 year...what a journey this has been!

Falling and scraping our knees, getting up and dusting ourselves off with bravado and a smiling face; going onwards with gusto again. We scaled high joys in these past 21 years, and we hope to, with your support, continue relentlessly ahead.

To celebrate this coming-of-age, we organised our 9th Summer Camp with the theme 'Summer of 21'.

It was a fun-filled 5 days for 163 children from 13 Udayan Ghars. Children from Mehrauli, Sant Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, NOIDA, Greater NOIDA, Kurukshetra, Jaipur, gathered at Jagshanti Udayan Ghar, Greater NOIDA, from 16 to 20 June 2015, accompanied by 25 care staff and the entire Ghar team.

At the camp the children mingled with each other to create memories and learning.

Highlights of the Summer of 21 Camp:

  • The children were exposed to an expanse of activities like taekwondo, art & craft, theatre, dance and graffiti, much to their delight.
  • They were left awestruck when they learned to identify Venus, the morning planet, and Jupiter along with its satellites, in the star-speckled sky, through a telescope provided by Nehru Planetarium group.
  • An informative and creative road play on Road Safety was organised by Mr. Deepak Sharma, trustee of ROSES and Honorary Director at Greater NOIDA Udayan Ghar. Children were encouraged to ask questions and interact, to ensure that the right message was conveyed.
  • On the last day, i.e., 20 June, different groups gave beautiful dance performances, and some groups exhibited their theatre skills learnt during the summer camp under the guidance of interns from London School of Theatre.
  • An art & craft exhibition, showcasing the creativity of our children, was arranged for the guests. The beautiful exhibits on display were created at the camp, with the help of the mentor mother Sarita Sachdev and her sister Ms. Vinita Venkat Raman.
  • Cash awards were distributed to 89 children from across 13 Udayan Ghars and 6 After Care Young Adults for their excellence in academics in the year 2014-15.
  • The event was brought to a close by Mr. Sanjay Singh, S.P. Rural, Gautam Buddha Nagar, when he lauded the children for their extraordinary performance.
  • And of course, there was a sumptuous lunch to round it off with, which everyone relished.
