“The Situation of Aftercare Youth in Delhi”, the CAP (Current Aftercare Practices) Report Launch by Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Ramesh Negi
The research report titled “The situation of Aftercare Youth in Delhi”, a research conducted by Udayan Care and capacitated by Delhi Commission of Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) and Makemytrip.com, was launched as the first study on “Current Aftercare Practices” (CAP) by the Deputy CM, Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Ramesh Negi, Chairperson, Delhi Commission for protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) on December 24, 2018. In the presence of care leavers themselves, members from different ministries, members of Child Welfare Committees (CWCs) and District Child Protection Officers (DCPOS), members of NGOs as well as members of DCPCR. The reports conclusive findings clearly establish the need to make aftercare programming in Delhi more robust and effective for the youth.
The launch of Aftercare Research Study at the Gujarat Inception Consultation
The Current Aftercare Practices (CAP) study in Gujarat was launched at a two-day Inception Consultation organized in Vadodara on December 4 to 5, 2018. This study is being carried out with support from Gujarat State Child Protection Society, UNICEF and Deepak Foundation.
Approximately 80 people participated, which included government functionaries, experts in the field of child protection, personnel of Child Care Institutions, members of UNICEF and Gujarat State Child Protection Society (GSCPS) and care leavers themselves. Three FGDs were also part of the event, to understand the ground reality of Aftercare in the State.

Dr. Kiran Modi (Founder and Managing Trustee, Udayan Care) participated at “The Viable and Operable Ideas for Child Equality” (VOICE) International Conference 2018, which focused on the theme 'Finding Scientific Answers to the 21st Century Challenges for Families, Communities and Public Policy'. The conference was held at Bali, Indonesia from the 12th to 15th of December, 2018
Dr. Modi presented a research on “Using Neuroscience Evidence Based Digital Technology to enhance Self-Regulation in Youth with Childhood Trauma”, which is based on a collaborative research between the University of California, Udayan Care and AIIMS and studies the impact of different kinds of digital based external stimuli to address trauma issues in children in institutional care.
