Having a sibling is even better than a superhero
We felt proud when few of our children displayed an act of selflessness. Annually, our sponsor ICN (International Children’s Network) gives their sponsored children money as a gift. This time when the few children of the boys home as well as the girls home received their gift money, they decided to spend it on each other rather than on themselves alone.
On 22nd July 2018 the children from the boys home took their brothers, both from Gurugram and the Mayur Vihar homes, on a visit to Jurassic Park, Sonepat. Similarly, on 5th August 2018 the girls took their sisters from other houses Udayan Ghars to the same waterpark.
Such instances just prove that children have an innate capacity to show sensitivity and caring for others and if nurtured they can blossom into responsible and concerned citizens. |
Your big opportunity may be right where you are now
The month of April marks the commencement of the new academic year, and yet again many deserving girls may be at the risk of losing their dreams of a higher education. Our Udayan Shalini Fellowship, through a powerful combination of financial aid and mentoring aims to give a platform to such deserving girls.
The programme through a rigorous screening process, NAT (Need, Ambition, Talent) inducts girls for the fellowship. At local centers, the exams of North Delhi, Gurugram, Greater Noida, Mumbai, Thane, Kurukshetra, Kolkata Dehradun and Haridwar have been conducted. We have reached the second stage of our screening process i.e. interviews, in Phagwara, Chennai, Hyderabad and also in our newly launched center in Vadodara (Gujarat); in the coming months many new Shalinis are going to be inducted in different chapters
