Induction Pledge Ceremony at Chennai
On 2nd December 2017, the Induction Pledge Ceremony at Corporation Girls High School, Cooks Road was organized, wherein the first batch of 60 girls took their pledge and received their first scholarship amount and solemnized the opening of the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Chapter at Chennai.
The occasion was graced with the presence of Ms. Seema Agarwal, I.P.S., and with Dr. Kiran Modi, Founder, Udayan Care, Mr. Naveen Narayanan - Convener, Ms. Sripriya – Core Committee member and Ms. Rosy Sofia – Sr. Coordinator.
Induction Pledge Ceremony at Gurugram
On 12th November 2017, the 6th batch of 40 girls was inducted in Gurugram Chapter of the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Programme with a splendid ceremony at Sat Krishna Charitable Hospital, Narsinghpur.
The presence of Chief Guest Vidya Srinivasan, Senior Vice President, Genpact, added meaning to the occasion. Dr. Kiran Modi set the pace with her motivating words, followed by distribution of cheques. The senior Shalinis of the Chapter shared their journey and experience with the audience which greeted the new batch with an everlasting energy. One could relate to the sense of pride that echoed in the voice of the fellows when they took the oath.
Induction Pledge Ceremony at Jaipur
On 5th November 2017, the inaugural function of the 5th batch of Udayan Shalini Fellows was instigated, at Savitri Bhartiya Bhawan, Maharani College, Jaipur.
Mr. Narendra Sikhwal (Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Jaipur) was the Chief Guest and a among the attendees were a congregate of committee members, volunteers, well-wishers and Udayan Ghar girls.
Induction Pledge Ceremony at Haridwar
The 6th batch of Shalini fellows was inducted in a grand ceremony held at Computer Hall, BHEL- Haridwar.
Mr. Sanjay Gulati, GM (Incharge), HEEP, BHEL Haridwar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mr. S. K. Aggarwal, General Manager – Human Resource BHEL, was invited as the Guest of honor.
Induction Pledge Ceremony at Hyderabad
Our Hyderabad Chapter this year received a grand total of 285 applications. Despite the tough competition, 58 deserving and talented young girls were selected and honored with the fellowship at the Induction Pledge Ceremony’ organized at Microsoft IDC on 9th of December, 2017.
Ms. Vaishali Malhotra (Chief Guest) and Ms. Jayanthi Sampath Kumar (Guest of Honour) were invited to bless our new batch of Shalinis.
First Graduation Ceremony
On 9th November 2017, our IT Centre in West Delhi celebrated its first graduation & scholarship awarding ceremony. With the kind support from Mr. S.C. Mittal of Jeevika Saarthi Foundation, to establish a new center called Kaushal Kalp - Udayan Care Vocational Training Centre. The foundation of the center is to nurture and evoke leadership qualities in youth and prepare them for their job and readiness placement in relevant industry. The celebrations included performances by the students to deliver a social message. They enacted a drama, portraying child abuse.
Dr. Kiran Modi, Managing Trustee, Udayan Care, Mr. S.C. Mittal, Jeevika Saarthi Foundation, and Mr. Deepak Sharma, Honorary Director, Udayan Care, encouraged the students, blesing them for their future endeavours. 72 students, certified in various computer courses, and are now ready to hunt for their desired jobs.
