Success is a journey, not destination. The efforts are often more important than the outcome!
Many a times in life we come at a crossroad and face the challenge of deciding which way would be better for us. Success lies in completing your journey, no matter which path you choose. Similarly, one of our Shalinis,
Kalpana Garg, of
tenth batch from our
Delhi chapter; soared high in her life after facing zillions of crossroads and hurdles. She has now become
a successful Chartered Accountant. Kalpana had to face many challenges on her way to success. She belonged to a typical Indian patriarchal family where many members were not supportive of her education. However, her mother knew the importance of schooling, and encouraged Kalpana to continue her education. And thus for further support, Kalpana associated herself with the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Programme wherein she not only received financial assistance but also the required guidance and exposure which she longed for.
“It was my mentor who encouraged me throughout my C.A. exams…The workshops run by
Udayan Shalini Fellowship Programme also helped me gain additional skills such as communication and confidence building”.
Kalpana is a true role model for our present Shalinis. She is very determined to contribute to the USF program and thus, now offers her guidance and support to our young Shalinis; thereby helping them pave their career paths and providing the necessary social support they need.
“At first they will ask why you are doing it; later they will ask how you did it!”
