Fighting all odds to, sometimes knowingly sometimes unknowingly, is what defines her life. Sheetal is a born warrior. She came to Udayan Care at the tender age of 5. Struck by sudden loss of her mother and an ailing father who handed over his 5 little girls to Hope Foundation in hope of their adoption and better families for them. But as destiny would have it Sheetal with her siblings reached Udayan Home for long term care.

The trauma she had been through, left her bereft of love and hope. Too young to understand and know what she had lost, new bonds, new family of peers and a new destiny was written at Udayan Home for Sheetal. Love, care affection and protection at Udayan Home slowly transformed her into a strong, confident and independent woman she had the potential to be. She was enrolled at DPS, Greater Noida, which further supported her education. She passed the 12th board exams with 87.6%. Her interest and inclination towards fashion design, was encouraged by the team and peers at Udayan Home.

A step closer to her dream she paved her way through India’s most renowned Fashion Design Institute, National Institute of Fashion & Technology.

It is rightly said “In determining our life’s trajectory, destiny’s role is substantial but not final”

The fact is, often people do not care to think about orphans at all. Or if they do, they see them as objects of charity, not a people who have true worth—people who accomplish, excel, fly.

Sheetal, is just one of our many kids who prove every day that this is not true.
